Checkers is a very sweet boy, who had a very rough start to his life. He loves other cats and is pictured with his good buddy, Cloudy in one of the pictures. Checkers was trapped as a young boy and he was very scared of people because he had lived outside with other cats. Oasis was called to rescued these cats and all of them had infected eyes and upper respiratory viruses. We had our veterinarian examine and treat the viruses and infection. Fortunately we were able to treat Checkers and get him healthy. He has now become friendly with us and wants our attention. He loves to be petted and will talk to us - especially when he smells canned food! Checkers would love a home where he has at least one other cat to be his buddy and a human family that will give him plenty of time to adjust and attention too. He is a very handsome guy, with pretty black and white tuxedo markings. He uses the litterbox faithfully. Adopting an animal is a lifetime commitment, so please do not adopt until you can make that commitment. Checkers is neutered, vaccinated and wormed. We are located on the south end of Whidbey Island, about 15 minutes from the ferry landing in Clinton.
